Swiss Air Force Northrop Tiger F-5F Trainer
The procurement of 72 "Tiger" - aircraft for the air force also included
six F-5F two-seater aircraft. With this two-seater, the Luftwaffe received for the first time an aircraft in which the front pilot's cabin is absolutely identical to that of the F-5E single-seater aircraft. The armament of this aircraft was only an onboard cannon, the flight instructor sat in the rear cockpit. In addition, the aircraft was not equipped with all instruments (e.g. the optical sight was omitted) and only the most important instruments were available, including the ejection seat selector switch (dual control, single release, etc.). The front cockpit canopy corresponds exactly to the Tiger F-5E.
At the end of 1978, the first Tiger F-5F were delivered to the air force and proved themselves well, especially for training.
Kit: Italeri 1:72
The emblems on the tiger are
"Panther" Season 18 Payerne and "Tiger" Season 11 Meiringen
Beautifully done, Hans Peter @messerschmitt
The F5 is such an elegant aircraft, I always love it to see Patrouille de Suisse performing their show in the F5.
Well done.
Danke Dir das es Dir gefällt. Gruss Hans Peter
A fantastic result, Hans Peter! The F-5F is an iconic aircraft of the Swiss Air Force and your model pays excellent tribute to the type!
Herzlichen Glückwunsch!
Ja es ist ein elegantes Flugzeug, wunderschön zum anschauen.
Excellent work. Question, were the canopy frames painted or decals?
Hallo Dan, die Rahmen am Cockpit habe ich Airbrusht. Danke Dir
Impressive. It is not easy to do... Even in 1/48 scale... I know have done it a couple of times
You’ve captured the look of this aircraft perfectly.
Very nice! The F-5 looks really good in that scheme, and you brought it to life nicely!
Danke für die Blumen, dieser Flieger geht nachher an einen Fliegerfreund.
Gruss Hans Peter
Funny! I remember that I did maintenance on this machine when I migrated from Hunter and before switching to F/A18 during my army time.
Thanks, Hans Peter for that sweet memory 🙂
Gruss Hans Peter
