1/32 Hasegawa P-47D28 “ Eileen”
Hi all,
This is my 1/32 Hasegawa P-47D-28 RA with the markings of Frank E. Oiler’s “Eileen 42-28878” from 78FG/84FS based İn Duxford (1944).
Cockpit modifications are:
-Aires cockpit set
-Yahu instrument panel
-Eduard seat selts
I have used the front part of the Quickboost engine set with the correct magnetos from Trumpeter. Lead wires were also added.
Other replaced parts are EaglePart wheels and Quickboost guns
Paints are Gunze Sangyo acrylics
Nose checkers have been painted by masking
Decals are from Cutting Edge CED32086.
Another Tolga masterpiece! Everything is, as always, excellent!
Congratulations!
Thanks Spiros @fiveten
Tolga - a particularly nice "catch" of the NMF border under the closed canopy position, and the leading edge of the flaps. These airplanes were painted "in the field" with the canopy closed and flaps raised. Small but telling details many miss.
Another masterpiece. As usual. 🙂
Thanks Tom @tcinla
Superb quality build, Tolga @tolgaul
The checkerboard pattern is exceptionally done. Any hints on your approach?
Thanks John @johnb
Old decals of Cutting Edge did not worked. I have used Montex mask set for Trumpeter P-47 with some arrangement and modification
Flawless work as always, Tolga. I like the subtle weathering on this one. I am definitely a fan of this scheme, having done the same checked cowling with the RAF Green/Sky camo for my Hasegawa P-47D (MX-E). It tried to use the same Cutting Edge checker decals but mine disintegrated, so I had to piece the checks together from an old Superscale sheet. Looks like yours went down perfectly, a testament to your decal handling skills (all other decaling looks great, too). Love the cockpit details, including the super detailed gunsight. The Yahu IP is fantastic. I can always count on your posts to inspire me with 32nd scale builds, You are the master in this scale.
Thanks Colin @coling
Old Cutting edge decals did not worked. I have used Montex mask set for Trumpy's razorback. But of course it needs some modifications and arrangements.

As always , another excellent build.

I’m reminded of the song “Come on, Eileen”, it’s terrific, Tolga.
Another beauty Tolga! I never realized the Jug wore sky undersides - I'll have to do one like that!
Thanks Greg @gkittinger
These were delivered as NMF to England. And some of them painted with RAF colors.
