Modelling crashed and broken aircraft
Hi all has anyone attempted to model crashed shot up belly landings force landings mechanical failures nosed up aircraft?
I would be interested to see if others have given this a thought I have large collection of photos some include crashed and broken aircraft from the 15 fighters groups with in the 8th airforce USAAF/USAF WW2 plenty to choose from.
These are great pics, Martin! Will help a lot in building such a diorama. Myself have never tried such a thing, I chicken too much...
I'm with you @fiveten! I frequently kick around the idea of doing a crash diorama and always end up chickening out. . . .maybe we need to do a crashed group build to give us some courage one of these days? Strength in numbers!
@fiveten @dbutlr if I can help in any way with photos let me know if ive got them ill share them no good holding on to these things I always feel share and let everyone learn too im not one to hold on to stuff no one learns that way do they 😉
A good case to do would be here this well know story 4th FG Don Blakesley commander of group was shot up covered in oil as you can see from pic and was saved by James Goodson and Robert Werhman they then escorted him home as you can see by photo totally covered in oil makes good interesting subject to copy and model

Wow! This looks very interesting, Martin!
Have the idea as well to give it a try sometime, Martin @iwantedwings
But till now, no experience at all.
That oil covered Thunderbolt is a very interesting subject to reproduce.
