  2. Korean War Group is coming to a close soon....

Hello again everyone. This is a friendly reminder that the Korean War group will be closing soon.

The last day to accept any new build journal entries will be on July 27th, 2023. So if you wanted to build something for the group, the time is running out.

Here is a link to the in case you are interested, or desire to start a new build journal.

This will be the anniversary date of when the cease fire went into effect, 70 years ago to the day. Our Korean War group build has followed the actual dates of the "Police Action", (a politicians way of saying "unofficial war"), as our way to honor these men and women who served there. Freedom is NOT free. Please remember that. It's also fragile, and can be gone in the blink of an eye.

I will be posting a recap in the headlines section shortly after this date. It will include photos of all of the completed builds. Honorable mentions will be made to the builds that are not done as of yet.

I will be updating the recap article as your remaining KW group builds are finished. I will add your completed models to the original recap, once they are done, along with the corresponding pictures.

If you have a completed model fro the KW group, and have a favorite photo or two of it that you would like to have incorporated into the recap article, please let me know which one it is and I'll make sure it is used in the final recap posting. Please let me know via PM what your choices are.

If I don't hear anything, I will simply choose the ones I like the best. If you want any changes made to my photo choices, please let me know. Thanks. I'll do my best to accommodate you.

I am going to be adding a few new build journals of my own now... mainly a 1/48 Monogram B-29 that Jeff Bailey was so kind to swap me for. I had plans to build it as "Command Decision"... Then I might be adding a few Sherman tanks too, a F-51, and maybe a MiG-15 or two, and possibly even a La-11. Who knows ?

I really should add in a M-46 for my Dad. I found out during the last days of his life, that one of the units he served with was the 6th Medium Tank Battalion, which was a part of the 24th ID for a short while. They had M-46's in his tank Company. Dad had also served in Sherman's too while in Korea, but they were in use by a different unit.

He told me he would rather operate as an Infantry "Grunt", which he also did in Korea as part of a Heavy Weapons Platoon.

Dad said "They don't shoot at you as much that way..."

Many thanks go out again everyone who has, (or who will) contribute to the group, whether it be posting comments or build journals.

Your efforts have made it a very successful group build.
