Italeri 1/12 Bugatti Type 35

I have always loved the look of this car, and was very pleased to see that a reasonably priced kit was released this year (2023). I'm not good enough to tackle the MFH kit!

To be honest, this does not look like a new release kit, the quality of the moulding and instructions feels 20 years old, especially after making some delightful Bandai kits recently.

Anyway, I'm planning on making a slightly used, but well maintained version, with a few additions from my box of bits (DisplayPort cables are excellent sources of plug leads and “steel wire” as used on the brakes) and aftermarket body pins from Decalcas.

Planning on a blue car with Tamiya TS-10 French Blue and maybe a light covering of semi-gloss clear for that authentic 1920's look!

I'll add some more photos soon!

  1. Hi Kevin, what a coincidence, I’ve just started building the same kit, have a look in the automotive group - “ripped silk - Bugatti Type 35B”. Your engine looks superb. If you are planning to post your build in stages then why not start a new topic in the automotive group. You can post your finished model here in headlines when it’s completed.

  2. Would love to see the progress of this build, Kevin @injidup
The proposal of George @chinesegeorge, to post your building progress in the automotive group, would make it much easier to update the progress and for other to follow the steps you did to achieve it.
    Looking forward to it.

  3. Excellent entry, Kevin! I agree with Geoge and John on starting a thread in the automotive group.

  4. Thanks for the advice, gents. I’ll get a thread started in the Automotive Group.
    Should I delete this one?

  5. No need for that.
