Photos over the UK taken by the USAAF during WW2
Historic England have just released a large collection of photos taken by the USAAF over the UK during WW2. I think many of you might be interested in having a look, both from a historical and a modelling viewpoint. Here’s the link

Happy modelling.
Thank you for sharing, George!
The link did not work, for me, but I found it on google...👍👍
Hi Gary, @gwskat, I hope you find it interesting, I’ve fixed the link now, I think the spell check tried to make it two words.
This is a fantastic link, my friend George! Thanks for sharing!
Glad you like it, @fiveten.
Thanks for posting this. It is a great web site. Embedded is a short documentary about PRU Spitfire PA 944 I found fascinating as the producer found and interviewed the pilot, Captain John Blyth. The interview, in my estimation, is a must see. I am guessing it has already inspired a number of modelers to make a PRU Spitfire.
Yep I build one and posted it here. Fascinating store.
Tom, I just looked up your build of PA 944! And you included the same documentary in your 2020 post. It appears I am clairvoyant in retrospect, and missed a lot in that pandemic thing. Nice work on the PRU Spit.
Thanks for looking, Russell @russjurco, there’s certainly a lot of info on PR aircraft.
Thanks for posting that link, George. Very amazing photos and information.
Glad you appreciate Eric @eb801, you could spend a lot of time on this site.
Great link, George. I just obtained an Airfix Mosquito PR.XVI that I’m probably going to finish in US markings.
Looking forward to seeing your Mosquito, John @j-healy.
If one knows the location of a unit's air base, just might find it in these photos.
Digging down and using The Yoxford Boys by Merle C. Olmsted tracked down an overhead shot of the 357th Fighter Group's airbase near Leiston but was located closer to Yoxford. On page 14 is an oblique photo of the airfield. What identifies this photo as Station F-373 is that large copse of woods with a hardstand inside it with two more hardstands bracketing the copse along with the smaller copse nearby.

You can do a lot of research here, David@kahu.
Thanks for sharing this great link, George @chinesegeorge
Lots of information to be found there.
