Arma Hobby 1/72 Hurricane MkI Tropical
Arma Hobby, 1/72. It doesn't contain any resin or etch, so it's a little disappointing, compared to the "Expert" variant, but still very enjoyable to build. Once again the fit of all the parts is just about perfect.
I know that the figure is not in the correct uniform, but I just added it for scale. I'm trying to source some 1/72 desert flyer figures. Finished in MRP paints, some oils and AK Weathering Pencils. First time I've used them properly, and it won't be the last. They really are a brilliant modelling product. I'm not sure if anything else provides the same level of control when applying the fine finishing touches.
Fantastic result, Robert! Painting and weathering are awesome!
Thank you, Spiros - very kind of you.
Looks superb, Robert @rob-cookson
The finish is perfect, especially considering this is tiny at 1/72
Thanks John 👍
Nice work, particularly the paintwork.
Not a complaint, but that is not a Hurricane IIC.
Thanks, Tom, and you are correct - it's a MkI.
I'm trying to work out how to edit my title card !
Great result from what already appears to be a classic kit.
Thanks, George. It really is a brilliantly produced kit.
Great looking finish.
Thanks John. The final weathering probably took me a bit longer than the actual build.
Nice one chap. You have to love a Hurricane.❤️
You certainly do! Thanks, Chris
Well done - nice paint and weathering.
Thanks Chas ! 👍
Very well done! The paint and weathering look great!
Thank you, Greg. The weathering was very enjoyable, when I started using the AK Pencils.
Did you mask the camo pattern or free hand with airbrush? Great result
Thanks Mark.
I freehand the first layer of camo, so there's quite a bit of overspray where the Earth/Sand areas meet. When it's completely dry ( which doesn't take long, with MRP paints) I go back and cover the edges of the various sections with masking putty, and then build up the next few coats.
Lovely. I've got this in the stash and will be using your work as inspiration!
Thanks Brian!
