Fokker D VII (Alb. early), Eduard, 1:48, Ltn. d R Carl Degelow, Jasta 40s, 30 victories
This was a very easy going build with no major intricacies. In my opinion, one of the best kits of this type in its scale. I warmly recommend. I myself have three more kits ready to assemble.
Pilot Carl Degelow was the last pilot to receive the Pour le Merite. He won most of his victories in this type of aircraft. He survived both world wars, serving as a Luftwaffe major, although he was imprisoned for several days for refusing to give the Nazi salute. He was released after it was discovered that he was a holder of the Order of Pour le Merite.
Fantastic job, Milan!
Thank you Friend.
Nice historical bit about Degelow, Milan. The Eduard D.VII certainly wins major points on overall "buildability," though I think there is an argument in favor of "technical accuracy" for the Roden kit. I've certainly done both and enjoyed them, though the Roden is indeed more "fiddly" (hard to believe there's a kit that beats Eduard on "fiddly"!)
Really nice work on this and a superb result.
PS - the Fly Roland D.VIb you inspired me to go track down arrived yesterday.
Yes, I agree, Roden is also not a bad kit, but Eduard just suits me. Have fun building Roland.
Outstanding build, Milan! I like the action you've put in the control surfaces, and the lozenge decals went down perfectly under your hand. It seems Degelow had a checkered record in Pfalz D.IIIs before finding his wings in the Fokker. At least one of his Pfalzs also carried the white stag. Degelow's arrest apparently happened before WWII began. He served throughout and was promoted, but I have been unable to find any mention of units, aircraft, or accomplishments.
Thank you for the clarification and yes the Pfalz also bore the stag designation. It was the sign of the Dresden Sanatorium that Deelow had taken over. His later Fokker carried white tail stripes. I wanted to add some authentic photos, unfortunately I couldn't find any, but I know they exist.
Another awesome result, Milan @milantesar
This VII looks great in every aspect.
Thank you John.
That's a beautiful DVII. Milan, As usual. That's a very interesting story. It's funny how many Luftwaffa pilots got in trouble for not "getting along" with the nazis.
Folders personal history is a pretty interesting one too.
Thank you Clint.
Beautiful D.VII, Milan.
Thank you John.
Excellent Fokker.
Thank you Dan.
A very nice build - looks great!
Thank you Greg.
The paint job and decal work are both top notch. @milantesar

A beautiful work over all Milan.
Good clean work, the model has like a historical appearance.
Thank you.
Your Fokker Dv11 has turned out just like all of your Great War models Milan, you have an obvious eye for detail and history. Great work.
Thank you Ian.
You’ve really got the hang of these models, keep them coming.
Thank you George.
