Tamiya 1/48 P-47D & M Thunderbolt
Three of Tamiya's bubbletops are presented here. Their finest model ever in the 48th scale props in terms of achieving the balance between the ease of construction and accurate depiction of the real aircraft.

You continue to provide us with more excellent looking aircraft. Great stuff, Rafi (@blackmopane).
Thank you John.
Excellent job as always on all three, Rafi!
And I totally agree on your thoughts about the kit!
Thank you Spiros!
Excellent trio of Thunderbolts, Rafi @blackmopane
Will definitely add this to my ever growing wishlist.
Thank you John.
Great looking P-47s Rafi! I have a lot of P-47 kits in my stash and surprisingly none are manufactured by Tamiya. I may have to change that.
Thank you Clint.
Enjoy
Very fine work and an excellent collection of P-47's...well done, Rafi!
Thank you Joe.
All three, top shelf builds. Well done!
The Tam kit is a nice kit to build and so many scheme options with after market decals and accessories.
Thank you Gary!
Indeed.
Three beauties indeed, Rafi @blackmopane! 😃 They all look great to me, thanks for sharing these with us! 🙏🏻
Thank you Gary.
Outstanding. Love the metal look and weathering on WZ✪P
Thank you George.
Three beautiful builds, Rafi! I've built a few Tamiya Thunderbolts, love them. Wonderful kits.
Thank you Chas.
Lovely. Looks absolutely like real metal. To be aspired to!
Thank you Brian.
I know very little about Thunderbolts but these three look like very good, well built models.
Thank you George.
According to people who I think know what they're talking about, there are some shape issues with the kit. Ive never been able to spot them even after reading a description. Comparing these with the new Miniart kit that's currently headed my way will be interesting. I otherwise agree with your assessment of the kits.
The three you have done here are all great evidence in favor of your assertion regarding kit quality. You've made the most of what was in the box! I particularly like the NMF work.
Well appreciated Tom.
A beautiful trio of T-bolts! I also really like the subtle weathering on the NMF finish. All three are excellent!
Thank you Greg!
🙂 ... Greetings ... 🙂 :
A very exemplary trio Rafi, the finish on all of them is so well done and the NMF one is so worthy of a little more observance.
Very good modeling, and thank you for sharing these pictures.
Thank you so much!
All three are inspiring builds Rafi. The colors and application of the paint on Bostwick’s UN@Z are beautiful. And I think the same is true of Lanowski’s HV@Z with the very interesting light blue surrounds to the stars and bars. I am wondering what base paint you used on the 78th Fighter Group machine. I like it very much and I am always trying to learn from the posts I see here on iModeler. One of these days I will bite the bullet and take a shot at an NMF finish.
Thank you Russell.
I mix my paints. In this case, I matched the light blue color with the color of the decal serial number.
It is difficult to go wrong with the Tamiya kit.
