Dear fellow modellers, this is most probably my dad´s last finished model for this year.
So we already wish you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas and all the best for 2024.

LF Models kit built oob, only added Eduard PE seatbelts and EZ Line for the antenna wire. Painted with Tamiya XF-5 Flat Green, XF-10 Flat Brown, XF-82 Ocean Gray 2 (RAF) and an old selfmixed RLM65.
It´s a typical shortrun kit but overall not a bad one. It´s full plastic, no PE, no resin no vacform.

The He112 was the Bf109 rival which never really made it to success. Besides being hardly in German Luftwaffe use, 30 went to Japan, another 30 to Romania. 19 were used by Spain and only 3 flew with the RHAF.
Our Austrian Airforce also ordered 42 (later reduced to 36) He112B in late 1937, but due to our Anschluss to Germany they never were delivered.
During summer 1940, tension rose between Hungary and Romania over Transylvania and both mobilized their forces. If the conflict would have became hot, it would have been the first encounter between He112s.
In April 1941, during the Yugoslavian campaign, the Hungarian 112s received the typical yellow recognition markings for that area but never saw any combat. By spring 1944 none of the Hungarian He112 were servicable anymore. All three were destroyed most probably during the Allied bombing attacks on Hungary in summer 1944.

  1. Your dad sure knows how to build'em, Reinhard.
Thanks to your dad for a great productive and entertaining year of building.

  2. wow - those yellow markings sure contrast with that early camo scheme - makes it a real eye-popping standout! Well done, and Merry Christmas to your family also!

  3. Another winner, Reinhard! Congratulations to the Spreitzhofer Family for yet another wonderful year!

  4. Another Spreitzhofer winner! I did the old Classic Airframes version in Spanish colors many years ago. I might have to get the LF model now!

  5. I see you got one! Great build! My model is the same plane as yours. The Hungarians had only 3 He 112's and. my paint finish was circa 1940, yours 1941.
