Construction Commission

Greetings all!
After another hectic construction season I was approached to build two more presentation models for deserving employees. ( I guess they considered my first effort worthy). This time however I was gifted with the support of the shop staff who graciously supplied the correct factory paint for the task, thanks guys! I enjoy any type of modeling but find it a challenge to build on somebody else's timeline as mistakes are more costly timewise. I also usually add more detail via conversion work and take greater care in assembly when building for somebody else. It is very rewarding but also a relief to get projects such as this completed. It makes getting back to my own build schedule that much more gratifying.
The first model is an AMT 1950 Ford F-1 completed as a pit supervisor's runabout, complete with a white hardhat on the seat (shouldn't that be on his head?) and a toolbox in the back. The tractor is an AMT "R" series Mack converted to a float unit with a "wetline" (hydraulic pump).
It leaves me wondering what will be in store at the end of next season!

Thanks for enjoying with me!

  1. Really nice work, Philip. The results are very realistic.

  2. Very nice work done on both, Philip @phillyhipower
I can imagine it is much more challenging to build for someone else.

  3. Nice work. I'm an airplane guy, but got talked into building a replica of a friend's Chevy truck a few years ago. Interesting and challenging. I can appreciate the work you put into your project.

  4. Thanks so much fellow modelers!
I just noticed the dog hair on the cb antenna!
I guess i'll just chalk that up to static electricity!
    oops...

  5. Nicely done, Philip.

  6. Good looking pair of trucks. @phillyhipower

  7. They’re both very nice but I especially like the pick-up.

  8. Both trucks look great. I'd love to have that ARDUN cylinder headed flat head Ford in real life, great HotRod stuff right there!

    • Thanks Clint,
Yes I am not typically an auto builder , so I went strictly with what was in the box with that one, and my wife is the one that owns a Mustang!
      The kind comments are appreciated!
      All the best!
