1/32nd Spitfire Mk.XIVc.

February 25, 2024 · in Aviation · · 16 · 138

Here is my . I built this one about year ago. I have to say I reckon the Spitfire Mk.XIVc is to me the most beautiful fighter aircraft of WW2. I just love it's graceful and powerful looks.

She was built out of the box. The kit has everything to make a stunning rendetion of this beautiful aircraft. Great moulding of the plastic injection parts. Superb resin parts, photo etched parts and excellent Carograf decals.

I used Tamiya acrylic paints throughout.

Thanks for stopping by and having a look at my Spitfire.

  1. Must have been sheer terror to start and land with very narrow undercarriage and hardly any ground clearance between propeller and mother earth. In its right element it must have been a dream to fly, all that wing and power. Great looking model.

    • Thanks Stellan. I have read the the MK.XIV was very difficult to get off the ground because the motor had so much power and torque. But once in the air it was so fast and maneuverable.
      I'm glad you like it.

  2. Excellent nob, Michael!

  3. Beautiful work! Amazing that this is the only OOB "high back" Spitfire XIV kit in existence that's any good.

@Stellan: You're right about the Spitfire XIV. It took off and landed ONLY in the three point position, due to prop clearance. Also only 3/4 power on takeoff until airborne, otherwise you would end on you back to the left of the runway.

  4. A great rendition of a graceful aircraft, Michael @michaelwoodgate
    Beautiful all over.

  5. Well done - I always liked the looks of Griffon Spitfires!

  6. That’s a beautiful looking Spitfire, Michael.

  7. Nice looking spit, Michael.

  8. A lovely build! I always considered this the more "muscular" of the Spits!

  9. Thanks Greg. They look mean and lean to me.
