Pacific class Locomotive "Biggin hill" Airfix HO OO Airfix
I always wanted a railway layout as a lad ,still do to be honest , but never got one , these ancient Airfix railway kits are surprisingly detailed and well engineered ,the only thing I added was some clear plastic for the cab windows. I will put it on a small dio to add some life at some point but just wanted to get this on display for now.
Nice model - I built one of these many years ago (as the West Country class, 'Budleigh Salterton') and they do go together very nicely. The finish is excellent.
Thanks Chris, the yellow stripes were a challenge.
I have fond memories of these old Kitmaster/ Airfix railway models, too, Neil. You could join a local railway modelling club and join in the fun.
Cheers George
Excellent result, Neil! Must build a train some day, I keep refraining from, as I fear I will get hooked 🙂
Thanks Spiros, it was fun the wheels and connecting rods work .
An absolutely beautiful build, Neil @neil-foster
Looking forward to see it displayed in a diorama.
Thanks John.
Not too many trains show up here, nice work!
Thanks Rob.
I haven’t seen one of those kits in decades, Neil. Very cool.
It came with original exploded diagram and written instructions, I didn't think the decals would work but they were fine
