Porsche Carrera GT
Hi guys, it's been a while!
Here's my 1/24 Tamiya Porsche, built start to finish at sea.
I now have my own airbrush and compressor onboard, and have been turning the galley into a paint studio after dinner is served!
Most of this was built and painted during the Atlantic crossing recently, coming back from the Caribbean. I knew we would be bunkering in Gibraltar, so I ordered the photo etch parts and studio 27 carbon fibre from Spot Model in Malaga, and put on the finishing touches.
Photography done in the cabin under the desk light, with sheets of greaseproof kitchen paper taped to the wall for a back drop.
Thanks for looking! 😁
Incredible to be able to build such a nice Porsche while onboard, Richard @richardmcstay48gmail-com
You must be happy to have your airbrush onboard now as well.
Cheers mate, it definitely keeps me out of the alcohol cupboard!
Fantastic model, even more so as it was completed on board, Richard!
Well done!
Thanks mate!
I can definitely do better on land, but you have to compromise..
Cheers!
Very nice build.
Thank you very much!
Looks very ship-shape, Richard, the clean lines are very Porsche-like, excellent, neat work.
Thank you very much my friend, and fellow watch collector!
Great looking build. It’s a true passion to build this quality of car while at sea. Thanks for sharing this tight looking speedster.
Cheers mate!
If you are a modeler then sometimes you need to adapt!
Nice work, Richard, and a great result.
Last time I built a model at sea was mumble-mumble years ago in the Navy.:-)
Thanks mate!
Well it's either that or rum!
Timeless shape the Carrera GT. Beautifully executed in this build!
Cheers mate, thanks very much!
