The Monogram kit holds a special place in my heart. One day in 1962, my dad came home from work with three Monogram model kits, a Zero which went to my brother, an Me-109 which my dad built and a Spitfire which I got to build. Up to then all I had ever built was monster models. Since then, I build everything. Today would have been his 98th birthday. Thanks dad.
Good for dad getting you involved at an early age into gluing-up little plastic model airplanes, etc...your first steps on the path to a lifetime of enjoying this awesome hobby. A really fine group of models you've shared with us.
Yeah, I don’t know what I would be doing with my spare time if I didn’t have these plastic distractions.

All nice builds. Funny thing, my dad came home with that kit too the same year. We built it together. It was my introduction to the whole process. About thirty years ago I found one in that original box for six dollars.
