Finally finished! MPM1/48thHe 177. Not an easy build but ultimately worthwhile i think. I hope the forthcoming Special Hobby re-release addresses at least some of the fit issues.
Luftwaffe four-engine bombers are rare, so it is especially nice to see one built. The camo paint is very nicely done. Thanks for showing this very fine model.
Congratulations!
Very well done! Love the camouflage and the subtle weathering. One of my favorite airplanes, and this kit is in my ‘someday’ pile. So nice to see one built up, and especially done so well. Thank you for posting it
David, @davecope109, I really like your build. Very good construction of what I know is a difficult kit. You then put such a well done paint scheme to make it really beautiful. I have this kit and pull it out from time to time, but get exhausted just looking at some of the issues it has to get to a build as nice as yours. I would love to learn from your experience both issues and your solutions. It might be just what I need to get me to build this kit, because I really like the plane.
Lovely work, David... ;-).
It's a bit kit, isn't it? Here's a photo of mine... a very challenging model, as I found out, and I'm sure you did as well. Ultimately, though, your efforts paid off. Very well done indeed.
A real beauty, David @davecope109
Great work on the camouflage.
This must be a big one in 1/48.
Thank you! Yes, it is quite a large model. The base is a 16 x 20 inch picture frame. I made the wings detachable for storage and transport to shows.

Amazing! I had one in the stash, started building it and gave up on it. You made my dream come true!
Thanks! It's worth persisting with if you still have it.
Great job, David. Like the base too.
Thank you!
That’s very impressive. Is it fiberglass/plastic? I remember some big kits from Eastern Europe being done that way.
Thank you! It's injection molded with resin bomb bay and etch interior and exterior detail sets.

Thank you! I have a couple more 4 engine Luftwaffe aircraft to do, Fw 200 and Ju 290, both in 1/72nd though.
Definitely worth the effort, David. Paint looks particularly good. You must have a big display cabinet!
Thank you! Nah, I built it with detachable wings for storage and transport to shows. My home isn't big enough for it to be out on display 😔

Outstanding job!
Thank you!
Spectacular job! I remember doing the Airfix 1/72 kit as a boy and thought even in that scale that it was a big airframe. Well done.
Thank you! Yep, it's a big beast!

Thank you! I've only ever seen two finished examples of this kit at model shows. Don't know if that's down to its reputation or its size!
Excellent work David. Your camo work and black underside finish are outstanding.
Thank you so much!
Well done - I like your paintwork!
Very nice! Love the paintwork. Well done.
Thank you!

Congratulations David! An absolutely awesome result out of a certainly most challenging kit! Excellent painting and weathering!
Thank you!
Bravo! Awesome work. Would like to see some images from the interiors
Thanks!

It was indeed very big and challenging, especially the canopy!
Unfortunately I was unable to find the cmk engine set for mine.
Love the camo on yours!
