1/72 Academy Grumman F6F-3 Hellcat
In this article I'll show a Grumman F6F-3 Hellcat in 1/72 scale from Academy that I finished by september, 2023. It represents the fighter flown by Lt. Richard Stambook within the VF-17 sqn. on board at the WWII USS Princeton aircraft carrier. I also have in my collection an old but good Airfix F6F-5 Hellcat that was built with british WWII far-east markings, so I purchased the Academy kit just because I like very much the decorations of the VF-17 squadron's Hellcats.
The decals that represent the mouth gave me a bit of trouble, so I had to make some touch ups with paint. Apart from this, I'm very satisfied with the resulting model.
