Oshkosh 2024

July 24, 2024 · in Photo Collections · · 9 · 322

Had a chance to go to the NATS in Madison this weekend and piggybacked a trip to . The NATS turnout was pretty incredible, the workmanship on display was extraordinary. I didn't get the Mustangs finished enough to take…but definitely next year in Virginia Beach. Oshkosh was just getting rolling during the 3 days I was there but there were some real beauties on display. Midwest Restorations debuted their latest with P-51D Dallas Doll. They keep setting the bar…along with Air Corps Aviation. Dallas Doll was restored over the last couple years and was formerly N210D, which has been one of the longest continuously flying Mustangs out there. They sure did her right. I can do a separate thread for the NATS if anyone is interested.

Not going to Oshkosh this year, first time missing the show since 1991. Thanks for the photos, just like being there. Sort of.

  2. Any more? Nice ones of “Dallas Doll”.

  3. Thanks for sharing your photos. Looks like you had a great day for an airshow. My vote is please share the IPMS National photos if you have the time.

  4. These are wonderful pics, Jim!

  5. Beautiful pictures, Jim @jimh
This airshow is still on my wishlist, it must be wonderful to see all those classic birds.

  6. Thanks for sharing, Jim. Some real beauties on display! Hopefully you had a chance to check out the museum while you were there. My grandpa was friends with Paul Poberezny, kicked in some money when he founded EAA. Great memories going there several times when I was a kid.

  7. Wonderful pics...Thanks, Jim!

  8. Glad you guys are enjoying these. If anyone here is on Facebook, there are tons of photos showing up of the Lanc and the 2 B-29s in formation as well as the Celebration of Life for Bud Anderson. Lots of great things happening this year. I didn’t take that many photos, but here are a few more.
