Review: 1/72 Special Hobby, Fairey Barracuda Mk. III "ASV Mk.XI Radar"
This is the Special Hobby, Fairey Barracuda Mk. III with ASV Mk.XI radar. The kit includes four different, post WWII sets of markings, including a French Navy variant, painted in overall dark sea blue. I did not like the included injection mold canopy and instead used the Falcon, Clear-Vax Canopies (1/72 scale set No.19). The kit decals included numerous stencils that enhanced the operational appearance of the aircraft. I used the included markings for a shore-based aircraft, at Naval Air Station (RNAS) St. Merryn, from August 1952 and it depicts No. 750. This a very well-appointed kit from a fine detail's perspective and I spent many hours of enjoyment building this cold war ship & submarine hunter.
Excellent result, James!
Nice work, James @jbpruitt
