Classic Plastic

Monogram models was arguably the greatest model company in the world in the late 60s and early 70s, I am sure Revell would have argued the fact, (Airfix could as well) but the evidence would weigh on Monogram's side. Look at their catalogue in the mid 70s. 1/48 B-17G, B-29, P-61, B-26, B-24s...and cars, cars cars...And who else would have ever made a mainstream kit of the Mack AC? The kit came as a stake truck, petrol tanker, and dump truck. I bought this original 1973 issue off ebay for a decent price. Prices have dropped for originals since Atlantis re-popped them recently. More to follow as I build

Looking forward to see how this truck gets together.
You might consider creating a build thread so that everybody can follow the progress more easily and updating the topic for you will be more easy as well.

  4. Hi Robert!
No argument as far as I am concerened.
I built many kits from the Monogram stable and enjoy them to this day.
I still purchase whatever classics I can find at swap meets.
Looks like great progress so far...check out my build of that Mack in the archives.
