HMS Dreadnought 1915 – 1/700 Trumpeter
Here is my HMS Dreadnought from Trumpeter. Her biggest claim to fame was when she was commissioned she made all other capital ships obsolete. Her innovations included;
- All big gun firepower.
- Steam turbine engines made her the fastest ship in her class.
- Officers and crew were moved closer to their stations.
- Electronic transmitted fire controls.
- The use of Krupp cemented armour.
She made all other nations scramble in the naval race to supremacy, especially Germany. Her combat activity was limited. While she did not participate in the “Battle of Jutland” she is the only capital ship to have sunk an enemy submarine.
This build was very challenging for me due to its scale. The railing and rigging were the most difficult but I persevered. I hope you enjoy.
