Messerspit 1/48

March 22, 2025 · in Aviation · · 6 · 103

Since my love is Spitfires in all their forms, I definitely had to have this German hybrid on my shelf. I chose the Mk.Vb kit from Tamiya and the conversion kit from LF models. It was not a good choice. The resin was bad, full of bubbles. The quality of the decals...terrible and the size of the characters and letters out of scale. And then it was time to move between the workbench, the basket and the skeleton cabinet. But since my sign is Aries...I managed it. Not for competitions, but the shelf loves it.

  1. I have found that any conversion looks easy at the beginning till literally the resin meets the plastic and after that... Reality sinks in

It still turned out nice and one of the more unique Spits or Bf109s out there depending on how you look at it.

  2. You clearly won the battle on this challenging project, Josef @joeross
    Well done

  3. Well done. Not sure why a mainstream kit maker hasn't tackled this yet

  4. Fantastic result, Josef!

  5. Well done - something different.

  6. Definitely a duck of a different color! Nicely done!
