Progress on USS Wilkes
Lots of painting, lots more to go main colors are on for the Measure 22 scheme she wore from 44 (possibly late '43) on through the end of the war. Need to do lots of touch ups, the Italeri Acrylics I used for the light grey gave me fits, seems it gets lumpy if you don't use what you mix right away. Sprayed great when I first mixed it up, but is not shelf stable so using it over several paint sessions does not work. Anyway, so far so good I think.

Rob... she's looking good. Is it 1:350th scale?
Yes it is converted from the Dragon 1/350 scale USS Livermore kit, biggest change was the addition of the twin 40mm mounts just aft of the aft torpedo tubes. I cut off the 20mm tubs and built new larger ones slightly more forward for the 40s.
this is looking very good!...keep going with the nice work! Are you planing to do some washes and weathering? or you want to leave it clean? like "museum" finished?

I will do some weathering on her, not sure how much just yet, still a long ways to go and lots of the Gold Medal Models PE to get ready! Probably some washes, a little fading and a touch of rust here and there.

I forgot to mention all the big parts are just set on her for the picture, nothing is glued down, so that is why things look a bit askew!
