1/48 Airfix P-40B Tomahawk Mk.II, 112 Squadron RAF North Africa
Hi all,
This is the very nice 1/48 scale Airfix P-40B. As flown by Sergeant William Earl Houston (RNZAF) while he was with 112 Squadron in North Africa.
It was a lot of fun to build with lots of experimenting on the paint and weathering.
The details...
Airfix Curtiss Tomahawk II. Item A05133
Kit Decals used
HGW seatbelt
Master barrels, ring and bead gunsight, pitot and pitot tube

Michael, your Tomahawk looks great, especially the upper surface painting and weathering. A lot of extras but certainly worth it. My only sorrow is that you could have build this beauty in our Teeth & Fang GB. There is hardly a more iconic sharkmouth plane as this one. Thanks for posting
Thanks Pedro. I used to be a member here but had a sabbatical for a while. Great to hear that you like it.
very pretty scheme
Thanks Bob.
Nice job on your Tomahawk Michael. Because this A/C was used by so many counties one can never build too many P-40's.
Thanks Tom. It certainly has a lot of scope for weathering too.
Nice work. That’s a fun kit.
Thanks John, it certainly was.
This new tool Airfix model is a very nice kit and is a lot of fun to build. I have built several of them, and plan on doing more, for the same reasons that Tom Bebout mentioned. Your model looks fantastic and I especially like how you have it painted. The weathering looks spot on too.
Well done and "liked".
Thanks Louis. It was a really enjoyable model to build and a lot of fun to paint.
Lovely build, and very nice paint and weathering. I have one in my stash, and yours just moved it up on my 'to do' pile!
Thanks Colin. Glad to hear that it's moved to the top of your pile. You'll have a lot of fun with it.
It is indeed a great kit, and you have made the most out of what you had there, Michael. I really like everything about this, but especially the paintwork.

Thanks Tom. As I mentioned, it was a lot of fun to build and paint.
That's a real beauty - love the paint work and weathering - so rich!
Thanks Greg. It looks much better in the flesh!
Nice work on this. I did one of these in the desert scheme posted here about a month or so ago. I also enjoyed the build.
Thanks Dale. I'll have to go hunting fot it.
Beautiful desert scheme, and the weathering is perfect.
Thanks Jerome.
Nicely done, looks great!
Thanks Robert.
