Meng Jadgpanther Ausf. G11:35
Another great kit from Meng. This will be paired with my Plattformwagen Type SSys for a rail transport vignette. I was torn about how much weathering to apply, thinking that a tank in transit wouldn't be as dirty and worn as something out in the field. So I could have done more to it, but also at times felt that maybe I applied too much. Once I get started on these effects it's hard to hold back. Especially with a canvas as big as this kit. Oh well. I like the results.
This kit was a fun build. Not too many parts considering the subject--with the exception of the160+ 3-piece individual track links--but plenty of detail. You are given 4 optional variants but be careful to follow the instructions as there are many small differences.
Nice build. I like your paint work, it looks great. I think you could go either way on the weathering even on a rail vignette. If it was pulled from service to be rushed to another front, I am not sure they would spend too much time cleaning it, just get it to where it is needed. I like the weathering that you have done.
Great job, Dennis! The weathering looks like they were in a hurry to move it to the front.
You nailed the weathering! This is a first class build.
🙂 ... Greetings ... 🙂 :
Nice work Dennis, very good weathering.
This model seems to be ready for a diorama. Will we see this happening ?
Nice build and nice weathering, Dennis!
I agree with all of the above, but I got a big ? Our tank models should show a lot of bare metal paint on the steel tank treads, along with the road wheels etc. None of my tanks show this and I have not seen any bare metal on other tank models.
I think there should be lots of area's that should show bare metal parts on the models.
Masterful work on this beastie!
