Building models since age 7 (except for a short respite in my military years). Enjoying it now more than ever. I build across the spectrum but am biased towards towards historical miniatures and military vehicles.
My fourth monthly ‘staying-at-home, no-frills, stash-reduction, build and paint’ project--June edition. A nice little kit that was one of Airfix's new generation. Apparently it received mixed reviews because the fuselage is a little short and s[...]
This is my third 'no-frills, stash-reduction, build and paint' project completion while "staying at home" in California. A very cool looking aircraft used by the USMC and Navy as an 'agressor' plane for aerial combat training. Is Italeri latin [...]
This is my third completion while under social distancing lockdown in California and my second "no frills' project (from my stash, no aftermarket stuff , no exotic weathering or damaging. Just build and paint). Its nearly OOB. I used some Star [...]
Another 1:48 beauty from Tamiya that went together flawlessly. I started this kit intending to do it OOB. But every picture shows them loaded up to some extent. I added aftermarket gas cans, stowage and ropes. The weathering process was the[...]
This is my first completion while under social distancing lockdown in California. As luck would have it, just before this started I began an initiative to reduce my stache and hone some modeling skills. My objective is to finish a simple no-fr[...]
In contrast to my Plattformwagen, I had a far better experience with this stunning kit. I can't sing its praises enough. Despite being a fairly young company, this kit's quality equals if not exceeds Tamiya and Eduard kits. I'm not kidding. T[...]
This model is intended to carry a Jadgpanther in rail transport mode which was inspired by Meng packaging this kit with their Jadgpanther kit, which is already in my stash. This kit is not for the faint hearted and previous experience building [...]
The final installment--tractor, trailer and dozer (and a whole lot of dirt). The last step was to put the trailer to the tractor and the dozer to the trailer and tie it all together with copious amount of pastel dirt.
Completed the dozer for this awesome Takom kit. Despite the apparent complexity, the parts count was actually modest thanks to good parts engineering. The driver's compartment is well appointed for its scale but is only visible if you left a d[...]
First completion of 2020 and a 2019 year end WIP. Another cool little Airfix kit. Everything went together like a gem. Added an Eduard color PE set. I experimented with more robust weathering using oils, pigments and pencils. Ended up with[...]
