After more than 30 years (I made my first scale model when I was 10 ) preparing researching struggling…… I start painting figures this year. And enjoyed it. ?
Somehow that one shot of a headless figure next to the set of nippers makes me nervous...those are well populated vee hickles there, they look great, very busy animated and well worn. Just yesterday I picked up the old Tamiya Russian assault infantry set, NINE figures! Like I'll ever get to these. Anyway, great work and enjoyment is what it's about.
It helps that figures have gotten really good in the past 10 years; painting competence can result in a final piece that would have been beyond the capability of many other than the master painters "back in the day." These look really good - combining good figures with your talent with the paint pot, you have an excellent result.

Yes, figures are getting really details now, I believe once 3D printing figures come into the market it will be another revolution.
