Spitfire Mk1, RN-J, Flg Off Desmond Sheen, 72Sqn, July 1940
This was a recent commission build for a chap in Australia who contacted me via the online portfolio I set up this year. He wanted markings for Flg Off Desmond Sheen of 72 Sqn, Leconfield, July 1940-I just hope it gets there in one peice!
1:48 Tamiya Kit, fully riveted, resin cockpit, wheels, prop/spinner and etched parts and handmade base.
Outstanding workmanship, Charles...your client will no doubt be pleased.
Beautiful model Charles. Like the different squadron code, We see "DW-K" and "DW-O" way too often. Some people have qualms with the Tamiya Mk. 1 but i found it a delight to build.
Charles, this is most impressive riveting work which no doubt adds a lot to the appeal of the finished model. Wonder how you did these oval rivet lines above the wheel wells... thanks for sharing /M..
Thanks guys. The kit is a real pleasure to build and I always lo=ve adding additional detailing to see how far I can take a kit. The rivet detail was done freehand with the excellent Hasegawa riveter and I only had one shot at each side-I was mighty glad they both worked first time!
Charles, don't really know what to say here. Just beautiful detailing work all around and a very convincing finish to top it off. Excellent work and very, very inspiring.
Very kind and ecouraging comments from all! Thankyou so much! 🙂
