1/48 VF-1A Valkyrie "low visibility"
I tried to create a weathering finish on Hasegawa's 1/48 scale kit, using the box art as a reference.
We aimed to create a finish that gives the impression that this is what the Valkyrie would look like if it were real, with a slight increase in detail.
Excellent weathering, emulating the grungy look of modern jets.
Thank you, I hope you can feel the atmosphere as if it were real and not a cartoon.
Ditto with Dan's comment, Dagored!
Superb result!
Thank you, it was worth finishing when you said so.
Very realistic looks, Dagored @dagored
The weathering is superbly done.
The gray aircraft was worth staining.
I agree, that’s a stunning weathering effect. Congrats!
This is one of those cartoon planes inspired by the F-14 obviously
I have tried to finish it so that it will have a presence as strong as that of the F-14.
I loved Robotech, and you did justice to the Valkyrie. Did the kit come with the gold-tinted cockpit, or is this something you did?
The canopy was colored clear brown by me, and hologram sheets were applied to the pilot's helmet visor and HUD.
Well done, @dagored. Weathering is very effective.
Thank you, I am glad to hear you say so.
Uber cool! Another Macross/Robotech fan and an excellent build as well!
I did also did my 1/48 Valkyrie with heavy weathering ala F14 style.
I really like they way you did your colour modulation, weathering and the gold tint on the canopy just adds so much more.
Fantastic!
