Mikro-Mir 1/72 De Havilland DH108 Swallow
A fun little kit,
It needs a little care and attention as it's short run and there's a bit of flash and some of the locating holes are a tad small for the parts.
Primed with Tamiya Neutral Grey
Painted with Tamiya Nato Black, Flat Aluminium, Rubber Black, Lacquer Gloss Black, ColourCoats Light Aircraft Grey, Alclad High Speed Silver.
Weathered with Citadel Nuln Oil, Flory Dark Dirt.
Finished with Windsor & Newton Satin Varnish.
I had a blast with this one.
Thanks for looking,
Cheers,
A beautiful little swallow, Alistair @alistairfgauld
Thanks so much.
Absolutely amazing subject, rendered per your usual excellence, Alistair!
What a superb little model!
Thanks Spiros.
Once again you are extremely kind.
Wow, this plane is so cool. Looks like a blend of a Messerschmitt Comet and a DH Vampire. Beautiful build also!
Many Thanks,
I believe the design was inspired by the Komet and as you say partly used in the Vampire.
Shame it was such a death trap though.
Nice little bird!
Very pretty lines. The one that killed Geoffrey de Havilland Jr. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geoffrey_de_Havilland_Jr.
Nicely done, Alister
Well done, Alistair (@alistairfgauld). You have certainly brought out the best in this kit.
A highly interesting subject and a superb build, great job! Thanks for showing this inspiring model!
Great job! Have to add one to my prototypes collection!
