Bike Fest - Ducati Desmosedici
I thought I had better join in the current mini motorbike fest here on iModeler, so, here's the Tamiya 1/12 Ducati Desmosedici Moto GP machine from the 2003 season. Yes, I'm sorry, it's yet another red Ducati, but can you really have too many of them? Anyway, this one's finished in Tamiya Bright Red to match the Marlboro livery, rather than the more usual Italian Racing Red. I'm sorry there aren't more pictures, but I didn't intend to post it onto iModeler (I can't remember why). Anyway, it's a standard Tamiya kit built out of the box with the addition of after market Marlboro decals from Hobby Design (please read the health warning on the packet).
After much success in the world Superbike series Ducati decided to enter the Moto GP seriesin 2003 with this machine to be ridden by L. Capirossi and T. Bayliss. Desmosedici refers to the sixteen valves which use Ducati's desmodromic valve design. To be honest they haven't had the same success in Moto GP as they enjoyed in World Superbikes, but, they are a pleasure to watch and listen to...Thanks again for looking.
More great motorcycles! What is going on here? I am sure having a fun time seeing these fabulous models.
That's it George, I say a race is in order here.
Really nice.

Excellent job, George...the photos make it look real.
Great Bike, like the other ones displayed before, building quality and photography creates the illusion it is real 1/1 !
Very well done mate 🙂
Excellent as ever George, you can tire of seeing to many Dukes or other bikes come to that.
It certainly is red George & very nice I might add.
Very nicely done George, a welcome addition to the bike fest. You can never have too many red bikes.
perfection
Very cool.

Nice clean build, so realistic in appearence it could fool the camera(and me).
Wonderful, George. Once again, you raised the bar with your beautiful, life-like work.
Stunning bike as usual George! I should really have a pop at a GP kit, they are amazing machines.
There was a road going Desmosedici in my local bike dealers in Newcastle not so long ago. It was up for £39,995. Someone bought it outright within a couple of days! They wouldn't tell me who mind! If I payed that much for a bike I would be scared to ride it.
Looks real to me! Another great bike you have built George. I really enjoy looking at your albums. Also, the choice of decals are very nice, indeed.
George,
What can I say that I have not already said. This looks like a person could jump on it and ride away. Beautiful
Thanks for all your generous comments, guys, as always, they are too kind, but much appreciated. Steve, if you want to see a race then I would be only too pleased to lend you a bike, I'm afraid I can't get into my leathers any more!
Really nice looking bike George, very well done.
