Saint Chamond French WWI Tank 1918
Newest piece for the museum. SAINT CHAMOND was the second French tank to enter the First World War. 400 manufactured between April 1917 to 1918. More of a heavy armoured vehicle, it fitted the description of early tank development. Its weight was 23 tonnes, and armed with a 75mm gun, it was effective again some German field artillery. Their first action as a fighting vehicle took place at Laffaux Mill on May 5, 1917. The three coaxial machines guns are Hotchkiss machine guns. The main gun is the Mle 1897. I still have a little work to do on the gun. Built from Scratch. Pine and cedar.
Some fine wood craftsmanship, Aaron @aaronbouma
