Hasegawa 1/48 A-4E Skyhawk
Here is my Hasegawa 1/48 A-4E Skyhawk that I just finished. It was my first Hasegawa Skyhawk and I enjoyed the build. My model depicts “Old Salt 301” from VA-163 Saints, flown by CDR Wynn Foster in 1966. I added a Quickboost seat, Eduard Brassin wheels, Reskit TER, and Reskit Mk 82 Snakeyes. I also reworked the slat wells to make them flush with the wing. Decals are from Bullseye's “Carrier Air Wing 16 USS Oriskany 1965-1967.”
Toby, that is a fantastic scale model, sir! 👏 @tobsnelson, This is a really beautiful Scooter you've built! Wow. 🤩
Thank you!
Great build Toby. Love me a Scooter. A friend of mine’s father flew them off Yankee Station. This is a fitting tribute.
Thanks. A museum near where I live in Fort Worth has a Scooter on display, it’s impressive how small a jet it is.
Very nice Hot Rod. The weathering looks just right. I made one over a decade ago with markings from the same squadron for VA Stockdale.
Thanks, the Bullseye decals also include the markings for Stockdale’s jet.
Very beautiful build of an important airplane. My appreciation for the Skyhawk has only grown over time. What a great add to you collection. Congrats!
Thanks, building this model definitely made me appreciate the Skyhawk as well!
Excellent result, Toby!
I can only agree with the above made remarks, Toby @tobsnelson
Superbly done.
You nailed the look Toby! That is a great looking build.
Excellent Skyhawk - love the nicely subtle weathering.
Really nice work on this, Toby. I like the weathering a lot.
Beautiful job, Toby. Your "mottling" of the finish is exquisite...
