  1. Wow. Excellent work on one of the most notorious bird cages of WW1. The rigging is what keeps my copy of the kit in the box.

  2. Well done, Mike. A real beauty all around.

  3. Great job, especially the rigging.

  4. Mike, your DH.2 is spectacular from the gas tank sight glass right dow to the grass. Did WNW supply the rigging and turnbuckles? And if you don’t mind sharing, what did you use for the grass base?

    • Hi Russel,
Wingnut Wings kits never came supplied with rigging or appropriate turnbuckles.
In fact no kit manufacturer of WW1 aircraft, apart from the much larger wood/white metal scale model kits, supply rigging materials.
Wingnut Wings suggest if you rig a model, use EZ line, which I never use as it adds no structural strength to the model.
The grass mat is the ‘Polak’ Wild Meadow - Variation G (4707).
If you go to my web site (link in the first post) and to the 'Build Logs' page, you can download my fully detailed log of this build, or any of the models.

      Mike
