Flight Test Engineer at Boeing & UAV/sUAS test pilot. I've worked on almost every major program at McDonnell Douglas/Boeing (F-15, F-18, AV8B, T-45, C-17, MD-11 as well as various weapons programs). I am also an RC pilot with about 35+ years of experience. I've flown gliders, fixed wing and rotorcraft. I've been building models since I was 7 years old.
I am married and have 5 kids (ages 19 to 6), three dogs, 1 cat and 2 birds. To say chaos reigns at our house is an understatement.
Here is my WNW's Sopwith Snipe. The kit goes together very nicely. This is my first completed WNW kit and surely won't be my last. Paint was Tamiya acrylics. I used Bobe's EZ Line for the rigging and Gaspatch turnbuckles. I was able to do [...]
Here's my completed Tamiya Corsair. Tamiya paint, oil washes and weathering. Not much more can be said about this kit. It's awesome. Goes together like a dream. It's perfect.
The base is from Just Plane Stuff and painted with a mix of [...]
I received my new Tamiya F4U-1 Birdcage Corsair a few weeks ago and I've been making steady progress on it. The thing that strikes me the most with this kit is just how well engineered this kit is. The first picture shows all the major [...]
Here is my Hasegawa 1/48 A-7E 'Valions' .
I had started this one back in '06 or '07 and when I got to the LE flaps I sort of ran out of steam with it so it sat on the shelf of doom until last year when I finally dusted it off and decided [...]
A truly superb kit! AFV's F-5E is a joy to build. The only real tedious part was closing up the gun bay. I just took my time and carefully glued all the doors. Fortunately they fit really well. You just have to make sure you fully remove [...]
I picked this one up at a local model show for $10. Again built stock out-of-box. Painted with Model Master acrylics and weathered with oil washes, filters and pastels. Figure painting is certainly not my forte, especially modern US 3-tone [...]
Nothing special about this one. A classic Tamiya kit that still holds up well even more than 30 years after its original release. I built mine stock out-of-the-box. Painted with Tamiya acrylics. A nice, quick and pleasant build.
Here's my small dio/vignette featuring Tamiya's JSU-152. It's intended to depict the Soviets advancing through Berlin in early April 1945, right before the end of the war.
The JSU-152 was built OOB. It's a wonderful kit that goes together [...]
Here's my Tamiya M51 Super Sherman. The kit was built OOB (out-of-box) with no extras added.
This kit goes together very well (it's a Tamiya after all, right?). No fit issues, no putty, just shake the box, add some glue and paint and [...]
