Navy vet, California born and raised. Pretty much came back home after my wonderful adventure in the Navy. Now working in the Automotive industry in the IE in So Cal. Enjoying the So Cal lifestyle. Year around modeling, sports, photography and home gardening. My main subject is Naval aviation in 48th scale. But I don’t limit myself as WWII subjects of all nations and aircraft that participated in that conflict I will build as well, some armor, a ship here and there and for a change of pace a car. As a kid that is where it all began with the old MPC Monkee Mobile in 1/25 scale. Thats me in a nutshell.

Summary of Past Postings

Tonight something a little different, a review of my previous postings, by showing the box tops of the kits I have reviewed on iModeler. When posting a WIP (work in progress) I usually show the box, contents and any AM decals, resin or PE items[...]

1/48th Macchi Veltro C.205,Hasegawa MTO, WWII

Something a little different tonite. We have Hasegawa's excellent Veltro in 48th scale. When I first started to plan on this particular project, my biggest dilemma was what scheme to replicate. Thinking this may be the only Veltro I may ev[...]

Monogram’s 72nd F-105F Thunderchief Vietnam

Whenever I get a kit to add to the stash, whether Ebay, hobby shop, online, etc, for the most part a quick peak inside and off to the stash it goes.. But one look at this, the detail for this scale it was basically the 48th kit shrunk down to[...]

Accurate Miniatures 48th SBD-3 Dauntless USN

AM's offering of the Dauntless was an enjoyable kit to build. Despite the many detailed bits in the cockpit throughout the kit, the parts assembly process was pretty much as the instructions described. This is the 3rd Am kit i have built, the[...]

Hasegawa 72nd Panavia Tornado F.3 Saudi Arabia, Desert Storm

This is the 3rd 72nd Gulf War vet, this time Hasegawa's 72nd Tornado. Basically the same scheme the RAF uses except for the Saudi markings. Like the RAF brothers the Saudi F3,s air combat variant of the Tornado didn't see much action during t[...]

Fujimi F-14A Tomcat 1/7nd, VF-41 Black Aces

Finally a Navy jet. Of course in my opinion, still my all time favorite. The Grumman F-14A Tomcat. This is the excellent Fujimi kit, builds just as nice as the Hasegawa kit, just not as fussy to build. The wings are designed to be in the op[...]

Focke Wulf Fw-190 A5 DML 1/48th scale Luftwaffe WWII

This Butcher Bird is older than the B-26K, built around 92, it was my first attempt on building a rather complicated Trimaster kit. Reading a review in Scale Modeler pointed out some of the fussiness in the project. But in the end a satisfy[...]

Vought A-7D Corsair II, Hasegawa, 1/48, Ohio ANG

My 3rd post I will present the very nice A-7D from Hasegawa in 48th scale. This built around 2006, images taken with an Olympus SP-55OUZ digital camera. Using Eduards zoom color PE set for the cockpit, Super Scale decals, and ordnance from [...]
