I told you this is not for normal people...

Having decided to add FOD covers to cover the blant closed intakes, having nothing to loose, I carved them with a combination of microdrilling and with my excell hobby knife.
    Here is the result:

And here's how the blant intakes look:

I am planning to paint matt black the innards and check how things will look...
    Cheers DH100GB!

    Putting it together, cont.

I attached the wings, the booms, the central and tip tailplanes and the fins.
Fit varied frm bad to extremely challenging.
I used liquefied styrene allaround, as the gaps were enormous at cases. In fact to attach the wings and the booms, i used liquefied styrene as glue.
    Here's how she looks:

    More to come!

Thanks my friend @airbum! A lot of carving (!), sanding and smoothing still to be done, in order to reach a passable result!

My secret is to never reveal just what parts I pulled from the spares box, and what they originally belonged to! Nice work bringing this dog kit up to a more interesting level... I also like the Venom - I built an old Pioneer Sea Venom and agree that it just looks like it has more muscle than the Vampire.

    Thanks Greg @gkittinger!
A dog of a kit it really is...
Working on it is challenging, but not a bad experience at all!

Glencoe kits can be a real challenge, but it looks like your scratchbuilding skills will beat this one into submission, Spiros (@fiveten). Looking forward to the paint and decals.

    Thanks George @gblair!
It IS a dog, the feeling of beating it can be very satisfying!
Our friend Allan @kalamazoo discovered a pic that portrays scratchbuilding in a nice way.
    Here it is!

    Now that's some pic!

You're right, Spiros (@fiveten), that is some picture. I assume the model is scratchbuilt, rather than being an Eduard or Hasegawa?

The model is definitely scratchbuilt, George @gblair, and looks absolutely gorgeous! (the plane, too... 🙂 )

To quote a pair of happy people I follow elsewhere; "The beatings will continue untill morale is restored"

and the muse is very inspiring indeed!

Final stages of the seemingly endless filling/sanding loop...

I rsorted on puttying the ailerons' borders, to be on par with the rest of the moving surfaces...

...waiting for the green stuff to dry...

Glad to see you are still able to squeeze a few drops of green from the tube! Somehow it will be missed when it is gone, even if I never had any myself 🙂
