@eb801, thanks a lot, Eric. I agree, without the tail section it does look very odd.
@j-healy, thank you, John. I've always been a fan of red accents on aircraft.

Started with applying a gloss clear coating.

    Nice and shiny, John!
The way you placed the Sabre on the cardboard makes it look like it’s broken in two. 🤣

Decals and paint really shine under the gloss, John (@johnb). Looks like your Sabre had a hard landing.

Nice and shiny, John @johnb. It does look “broken” but I like it a lot.

@alfred, @gblair, @eb801, thanks a lot all. I will try to display it in a better setting when it's finished. 🙂

After applying a clear coat on the lower surface the decals started to reveal a lot of air bubbles underneath. This did not happen with the decals on the upper surface. I'm sure the air was not there prior to applying the coat.

Making various incisions and applying decal softener various times did improve the looks of the decals a bit.
Luckily this only happened on the lower decals which will be barely seen.

After the decal disaster I continued re-spraying the anti glare part, a bit of gloss coat leaked which had to be corrected. Masks were removed from the canopy as well.

With the engine mounted the Sabre currently looks like this.
Just a few final bits and pieces prior to crossing the finish line.

That looks terrific, John @johnb. That rack for the tail really makes it and with the engine now exposed it doesn't look odd any more, as in "where's my rear end?". Well done.

This looks awesome, John (@johnb). The open panels and exposed engine really looks cool. Well done on a tough build.

Excellent remedial job on the lower decals mishap, my friend @johnb! Who knows why this happened and only at the undersides: one of life's mysteries and, surely, very nice that the top ones were unaffected.
Your Sabre looks AMAZING! Looking forward to see her crossing the finish line!
