Not that much progress my friends due to other obligations and activities.
Painted the air brake bays and closed them temporarily in preparation for the painting of the fuselage.

Nice work on the airbrakes, Alfred @alfred
Good idea to close them prior to fuselage painting, it would be a pity to see them re-painted.

You are braver than I am, Alfred (@alfred). When I saw that the national markings went right over the speed brake, I decided I would take the easy road and seal them shut. Seeing the inside of the brakes sure add a point of interest to the plane.

BTW Alfred - this airplane is not overall light grey. It is painted with aluminum lacquer for corrosion control, which lost its shine over time and gave the appearance in BW shots and color shots in overcast (i.e. European) conditions of being gray. But it's not!

Hi Tom, the replica Wolfhound Sabre on display at the National Military Museum at former AFB Soesterberg is greyish. My rendition will have the original color which is NMF. @tcinla

Today I gave my Sabre a black base coat of A-STAND lacquer primer.

Thanks so much Spiros and John! @fiveten @johnb
I think I’m going to give it a light buff still before I put on the NMF.

Black primer looks great, Alfred (@alfred), and should give a really good foundation for the coming metallics.

Discovered a ghost seam line on the nose, grrr …
I covered it with super glue and gave the complete aircraft an extra layer of Gloss Black Base Primer just to be sure.

Looks great, Alfred (@alfred). The need for a smooth surface is demanding. I had to reapply filler on the leading edges of my wings and refinish them. Luckily it was a quick fix.
