    Looking great, my friend @eb801!
Nice to resume work on this wonderful model.

Yeah, this one is going to be a super result @eb801. I'll bet you'll be making more of these Wurgers.

I agree with Spiros and Tom opinions, your work is heading for a great looking model for sure Eric.
Since I skipped a few updates, let me just add that I also think that their P-51s are super kits, but their “buildability” is inferior to this one on account of the wing to fuselage join, it needs some tweaks like Tom described in his build reviews

Good to see you continuing this kit, Eric @eb801
Mostly I also have difficulties in getting the correct color on photos, no excuses for that.
I have to say that your pictures look very nice, just like the kit.

Thanks John, Tom, Pedro, and Spiros for your comments. This really is a sweet kit and it does fit slightly nicer than Eduard's P-51D series. But no complaints in that department either. Ran out of paint so let's see if the postman delivers supplies by the end of this week.

    PAINT JOB PART ONE
Just got finished applying the topside camo colors on the wings and tail. I used Ammo's RLM 75 Grauviolett for the grey and Vallejo Model Air RLM74 Graugrün for green. Both colors were heavily thinned allowing the preshading to show through. Next I will spray this bird with a protective coat of Future before finishing off the rest of the camo and mottling along the sides and top of the fuselage.

    Eric, @eb801
Your FW looks very good with the paint masks removed. The panel line / rivet surface details in the plastic are highly visible. We are looking forward to the next steps. Well done !

I have not had much spare time available lately for building, but I do plan on posting a few updates on the Pro Modeler Kurt Tank "Moskito" very soon. Thank you again for all of your help with that one.

Very nice progress on the paint Eric. I have to admit I usually plaster all the areas in need of the same color in one go, but your approach works a lot better for accuracy. Very nice progress!

    Looks very nice, Eric @eb801
The panel lines are still nicely visible.
What was the ratio for diluting you used?

Erik: I was going to paint all the top surfaces with a solid coat of RLM75 and then mask off and spray the areas that needed the darker RLM74 over the top of it. Since I was experimenting with Mig paints and Vallejo, I was concerned that I would loose the preshading effects with the overcoat of RLM74. It made for twice as much work but slow and easy masking does seem to return better results and I believe it's more accurate looking.

Louis: Look forward to seeing that Moskito one of these days, but I know what you mean about not having any time for modeling. I recently had to stop for two months.

John: This is the first time I have ever thinned Mig or Vallejo airbrush paints. Since I wanted to get the preshading to show through, I thinned each RLM color with Mig acrylic thinner- about 60% paint/40% thinner - plus a couple of drops of Taimya retarder, mixed directly in the airbrush cup. Worked like a champ!

I just sprayed the whole thing with Future and in a few days will finish off the camo.

    Looking good Erik!
I do all those upper surfaces Colours free hand but your masks are very sharp indeed. The RLM 75 is way more violet that Gunze or MRP, which are my 7sial suspects 😉

I was a bit taken aback by the violet-ness of the Ammo Mig RLM75 compared to the Model Master paints I've used in the past which no longer exists. I suppose Ammo know what they are doing when it comes to correct colors - or do they? What's the word on them, guys?

I suspect that actual stencils were used when these planes were painted at the factory during the time frame this plane was manufactured.
