That chain looks terrific, Cricket (@bikequeen). You obviously have a lot more patience than I do.

Thanks everyone….here is the chain update

Welp, it’s not perfect and it’s static (done correctly it should be movable, but oh well) it looks reasonably good.

I did a test fit and threading it was a pain as in some place it works well in others it was riveted to tight. I got it around the engine sprocket and drew it down over the rear sprocket, it was to short as I knew it would be. I got it as tight as I could, tightened the wheel screw so it wouldn’t move.

It was such a pain to do I left rather than remove it, paint it and reinstall, so i glued it in place on the rear sprocket. It was 8 links short so I made one last piece of chain put it on the spirochete and glued it in place too.

I should have painted it before the test fit but didnt. For over a week I fussed over that chain. I will NOT do another like that again 🙂

Here are pics….not perfect but that issues is resolved and I can work on other things now.

@bikequeen - Looks fantastic Cricket! I still want to do a chain like that, but I want to a lot less now. 😉

That chain looks really cool now, Cricket @bikequeen, you’ve done a good job on sanding that tyre as well.

This chain looks impressive, Cricket @bikequeen.
You can definitely be proud of the result.
I do like the roughness of that tyre as well.

Your finished chain will be definitely worth the effort, Cricket (@bikequeen). You basically built a model chain in exactly the same way you would assemble a real chain, except much smaller.

Thanks everyone, funny the tire got more notice than the chain…the tire was easy…LOL. It looked great until I dumped CA glue on it…it’s fixed now but imagine my horror :). I got more a glue on me that I do the model. I would try the chain again, but not this week :). Got a lot of fiddly work done the last few days, mostly PE and resin parts and a few decals. I have miles of wiring to do..LOL

Hand a really nice Serial number plate in PE and was ready to attach it when PING it snapped outt of the tweezers never to be seen again….I have a decal but it’s terrible in comparison

I’ll try to get pics later today! I’t starting to look like a motorcycle now and I ca see light at the end of the tunnel and its not a train coming at me… 🙂 (Fingers crossed)

Hi Cricket @bikequeen, CA glue, tweezers, and PE parts, always a disaster waiting to happen, but it will come good in the end, looking forward to your photos as well.

My hands shake, Cricket (@bikequeen), when I think about how much detailed work was involved building the chain. It looks great, but so does the rest of the bike.

So near yet so far. Miles of wiring to do and some dressing up of the clear cowlings. More resin parts to add and some fiddly stuff…SIGH. I’m getting burned out on this

@bikequeen - Finish strong Cricket! It's looking amazing. Every time you look at this masterpiece on the shelf, you'll remember how awesome of a build it was and love all the fiddly bits you took the time to install.
Pain is temporary, Glory lasts forever!
