    @stellan - I use the Tamiya thinner. Sometimes I use 90% rubbing alcohol. Tamiya's paints are "bulletproof." I always give them a coat of clear gloss before applying decals, and then a coat of clear flat, which usually isn't as flat as the original Tamiya paint finish.

    Here is the model completed. Will be reviewed at Modeling Madness on December 9.

    These airplanes were painted with gloss Polyurethane by Cavalier, which stood up well in the tropics, other than becoming less glossy and fading a bit. I saw one of these when the Central American F-51s were brought back to the US in 1975. the paint on it was pretty good, for having been abandoned for a few years. Not a lot of chipping or dings.
