    Hi everyone!

Just entered a Monogram 1/48 P-40B in Aviation -Propeller Era GB this morning:

    https://imodeler.com/groups/aviation/forum/topic/monogram-1-48-p-40b/

After granting form this Group Admin, my fiend @lis, the build is transferred in this GB (note to my friends @johnb, @tom-bebout and @jetmex).

Her are the pics of the kit contents and progress so far:

The wheel wells are nonexistant: to busy them up, I added two pieces of plastic mesh at their bottom... First session of putty application... Thanks for stopping by!

Excellent choice Spiros. The Monogram P-40 is one of the corner stones of modeling accuracy. Or in the beginning. This kit started the movement towards making adult kits that weren't toys. The only thing off in this kit is the nuns-hat behind the cowling flaps. For years this was the go to kit (decades) for 1/48 P-40 B/C or the long nosed P-40.

    Lookin good.

    Thanks my friend @stephen-w-towle!
It is really noteworthy how respected this kit is to the modeling community!

    More filling and sanding...

The plastic is overly thin, with the model flexing and wobbling upon rough treatment (yours truly specialty...), with already filled seams spreading open and reappearing...liquefied styrene and calm handling to the rescue...
    Thanks for stopping by!

A kit which requires special attention, Spiros @fiveten
Indeed one of your specialties, so that will turn out ok.
Looking forward to the next steps.

Thanks my friend @johnb! Well, so far my speciality with this kit is putting extra stress and crack-open those nasty seams... 🙂
    Let's hope things will improve!
Meanwhile, the prop hub was coarse sanded, looking homogeneous, but needs some filling and sanding...

    Thanks for stopping by!

Even the propellor needs some attention, Spiros @fiveten.
Those open cracks will be smoothened in a next round.
