Hello Andrew @pb_legend ! I’d like to see your AT-19 when you’re done. I have a slew of aircraft in my stash of kits that I have been organizing / prioritizing for 2022. I’m looking forward to starting one of them .

Tonight after work I set up the airbrush and sprayed some Tamiya XF-50 “ Field Blue” on the Arizona’s hull. I like the looks of it.
I didn’t do a very good job masking the black waterline stripe, that’ll have to be addressed along with other paint touch up.

The funnel has also been started. It needs further painting and some search lights installed on the catwalk that goes around the funnel.

    Thank you, John @johnb !
It’s turning out looking nicer then I thought it might.

Tonight I glued the both decks in place as well as the funnel.

I also started assembling the main tripod mast…. You can’t rush that process. It’ll have to sit overnight while it drys.

Seems like you had a succesful evening, Jay @ssgt
An impressive ship which can be clearly seen from the last picture, an immense bow.

It’s nice to see the major steps complete,John @johnb,
The tripod masts are kind if tricky to build and have them line up with the three holes on the deck.

For such an old kit & old builder, I’m pleased with the results. I initially thought of buying the photo etch sets available for this kit, but clear thinking returned and I decided against it. I appreciate your comments, Spiros @fiveten.

Thank you, @lis… I’m trying to finish before the New Years. The tripod masts are time consuming to build and have them fit the holes in the deck where they attach.

Hey Morné ! @mornem ! Thanks for the compliment ! I appreciate it. I like the colors too . Im going to try to mix up some very light gray or off white for the tops of the tripod masts soon. I started painting the aircraft. The aft tripod mast is in place and really changes the look of the ship. I hope to get the forward Tripod on the ship today.

Nice to hear from you , Morné ..

It’s about 85% complete, I think. Seems like a natural stopping point for tonight.
