and the usual high-end PFP process is full steam ahead. One question @fiveten; the blob in the bottle - whatsit? A wet sponge for dustremoval perhaps?

    Thanks my friend @airbum!

The blob is Patafix attached, so the bottle (which keeps water thin glue) can be firmly attached and secured at the corner walls of a shallow mini box I keep it, together with many Humbrol enamels. In the past, no matter how I love smelling the fumes, I had some graphic instances of the bottle capsizing, with all the glue spilt allover the surrounding area...

Your next question might very sensibly be: "Spiros, why don't you put the bottle on the bench when you need it and put it back in the box when you finish?" and the answer is : "I don't know why! Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't...".

As if you haven't already realized I am not the normallest person you know... 🙂

Pictorial PFP QCs Victor evaluation hopefully tonight!

Ahhhh - it is attached to the outside! I know all about thingluebottles capsizing. . . .

I have been thinking (go figure) about making a "keep that bottle upright" thing (I know they are on the market, but it might be more fun to make one out of an old airplane part)

    Nervously awaiting the QC result.

    Basic elements puttied...

...with my beloved Squadron Green, and check/acceptance by local Quality Control (QC1) Representative...
After sanding the basic elements will be attached, in order for the basic Victor shape to emerge.
    Cheers, F-MW GB!

    Airbrakes and central drogue housing

Oh, my! The airbrakes shape and the relevant fuselage reception cutout had little in common...

I affixed them in the best possible position and faired the big gaps with liquefied styrene:

The situation was even worse for the central retractable drogue housing...

I followed the same procedure, fairing the gaps, including the monstrous rear one, with thick liquefied styrene...

    Thank goodness LqS is here!

    Thanks for stopping by!

Wow! @fiveten - you must be using deficit spending of magic to get this thing along! Amazing work - you're getting more out of this kit than Matchbox ever put into it.

Spiros - outstanding work. You're turning this Matchbox job into a state of the art kit. I assume your Quality Control advisor approves.

Thanks my friends @tcinla and @eb801!
I try to make the kit offending areas look less offending and also implement a couple of extra "details" here and there, to add some "seriousness", hoping the end result will pass as a model and not an assembled toy...
Yep, QC Advisor approved; it's a Matchbox!

This build brings back so many memories from my early modeling days. Pre-internet times, most of the time you had no idea about the age of the kit, or whether it was a rebox. I spent my pocket money on very old and very challenging kits (oh look, a 1:72 B-17G, how cool is that! Now I know that the old Airfix kit is a 1962 tooling... ) Terrible fitting, wrong shapes, missing details.

You do great job here, can’t wait to see the finished kit.
