Those rods do look a bit more sturdy than the ones I broke on the Lancer trying to separate them from the sprue, @jhealy.

Interesting wing attachment, John (@j-healy). Skimpy wing attachment points are my nemesis. I need wing spars, slots, pins, and anything else I can get, and still sometimes manage to have drooping wings. Glad to know about the wings before I build mine.

    John, @j-healy
Thank you for the heads up about the wing joint. I am very impressed with the way this kit looks, and all the details and PE parts , masks, etc. that are included right in the box. Thanks also for posting these detailed photos for us to use as a future reference. I recently picked up another Dora Wings kit, (it was the Curtiss SNC-1), as I am still waiting on the Vengeance to arrive from the Ukraine. I'm not holding my breath for it to show up.

So I started building the little Curtiss plane as I have been chomping at the bit to build a trainer from Green Cove Springs which is not too far away from where we live. The old original buildings are mostly still there, but they are storing newly manufactured automobiles on the runways now that are waiting for computer chips. Green Cove Springs was an outlying field for NAS Jacksonville and Cecil Field. I have a fascination with the local history from the WW2 and Korean War era.

I'm looking forward to your next installment. Take care. 🙂

Thanks, Louis! I’m always interested in local history too. We have our share of it here in south Alabama. Barin Field is still an active outlying field for T-6s from Whiting and Pensacola. Silverhill and Summerdale are still active but rarely used.

I have received several of the Dora Wings kits 1/48 from modelsUA in Lutsk, west of Kyiv over near Lviv. Ivan Kolenko says they are safe so far and their mail service still works. I've received two orders since the Muscovite invasion. and have the ICM Gotha on order now.

I got some modeling time in today and assembled the bomb bay. Again, great detail and a pleasure to assemble. My slow pace on this one doesn’t reflect on the kit. I’ve just been busy with a couple other kits and a lot of non-modeling stuff.

Glad to see all this work you're doing with the "map of the minefield." I'll have my hands on one of these Monday.

For those who may be interested in making an order certain to be filled, Scott at "rebelalpha" eBay store has the kit in limited stock now.

No mines in this field, Tom. It’s a really nice kit.

    Nicely detailed indeed, John @j-healy
Those PE parts do add a lot to it.

Ditto from me, John (@j-healy), looks great. I have built a couple of Dora Wings kits and they went together well.

Back in the saddle! I had zero modeling time over the last month. I spent this morning on control surfaces and engine assembly. Pay attention when assembling the flaps and elevators. It’s easy to get confused.

Looking very nice @j-healy. I discovered that Red Roo does a vacuform canopy for the AZ kit, which when cut up and opened will do wonders for this one. Well worth obtaining, since there's such a nice cockpit here to display.
