Both, engine and bombs, do look superb indeed, John @j-healy

Well done on the bombs, John (@j-healy). I have tried to assemble similar bombs in the past and eventually gave up. The photoetch is a little to fiddly for me, but yours have come out very well.

I spent today attaching more PE. It all fits nicely. The Vengeance is odd in a lot of ways, but one feature that I’ve never seen on any other plane is the oleo scissor’s position on the gear legs. They’re attached on the inboard side rather then the usual fore or aft. I’m finally getting close to paint on this one. I need to run some thin CA around the dive flaps to ensure they’re flush, check some seams, and then start masking for paint.

Awesome work with the photoetch, John (@j-healy). It looks like the etch is really fiddly. I have this kit and I am not looking forward to all the exterior etch when I finally build it.

You’ll do fine with this, George. I remember that Special Hobby Maryland that you built! This one really would have gone faster but I didn’t have a chance to work on it for about five weeks.

Seriously good work on the PE, John @j-Healy. Nice and clean. What type of glue and brand do you use?

Thanks, Eric. Zap a Gap thin on these. Loctite regular on the rest of the PE.

Beautiful work on the PE, John @j-healy
You seem to handle these delicate parts with ease.

Inspirational work here @j-healy. I'm starting mine. One trick I decided on was attaching the wing and horizontal stabs to the fuselage halves before assembling the fuselage, which gave me better fit and no need for any filler. Also going to be lazy and close the bomb bay.

Very nice build tutorial if I may add John. This is not an easy kit, and one I think the makers had that super PE rampage urge that simply complicates the build. However in the hands of a competent model maker as yourself it can turn into a seriously good looking bird

Thanks guys. The closed bomb bay doors fit so well that I’m using them as a mask, Tom.

Pedro, yes I agree about some of the PE. The tiny switches and levers in the cockpit could have just as easily been molded as raised detail and looked better. The flip side is the PE in the bomb bay and the dive brakes. Both look great in my opinion.

I decided on a scheme. RAF 45 Sq. in India using the decals from the AZ kit. It’s an interesting unit that came to SE Asia in 1941 flying Blenheims. They flew Mosquitos after the Vengeance, were heavily involved in Malaya flying Beaufighters and Brigands, and disbanded in Singapore in 1970. Their last a/c was the Canberra.

I’m hoping to finish this in about a week.

Very nice that the bomb bays are used as masks, my friend @j-healy!
Great scheme choice of a historical unit.

Nice idea on the bomb bay doors, John @j-healy
Looking forward to your chosen scheme.

Ditto from me, John (@j-healy). I typically never have the bomb bays open, so it is great to see that they fit well enough to use as a mask. I am with you on the small photoetch for the toggles, etc. Mine usually end up in the carpet and I replace them with plastic. I think this will be a great paint scheme for your plane. I passed my Vengeance sitting on a shelf in the garage and I think it was calling me.
