That Revell dark earth is a pain in the a… for airbrushes, at least as the Aqua version.

Looks great, Yann (@yann). When you start painting the camo it really starts to bring things together.

Hi Felix @fxrob. I'm very pleased with Revel Enamel colors. I was using mainly Humbrol which were not what they used to be and then shifted with Revel. Since then I tried to use only this brand (never tried Acrylics). The paint can be mixed very easily (I use a drilling machine with a piece of sprue) and thin it with Tamiya thinner about 40 pc of the total mixture. The drying time is quite fast.

Thanks George @gblair, I fully agree with you. Yesterday I started the masking. And even with the blue cover it start looking like a real Hurricane.

I have to say I do not understand how you managed to get to such a bad place with this kit. I've done six of them and never used any filler other than a bit of CA glue along the cowling centerline. One thing that has to be done with all these modern kits is to clean off all sprue nubs COMPLETELY because the fit is so precise. One thing I have discovered (the hard way) with this and other modern kits is to take time to very carefully mate jointing surfaces; the slightest little imperfection on the mating surface will throw things off, and then it's like rolling a snowball downhill, the problems just expand and grow.

You've done a good "save" here, but I think the future solution is to be really precise with getting the parts off the sprue and cleaned up. It's a never-ending fight. I was just working this past week on an Eduard Spitfire and couldn't get the wing and fuselage joined (a notorious tight fit) and then when I looked closely I saw the tiniest bit of sprue nub on the inner edge of the upper wing. smoothed that and sanded down, and - bingo! - everything came together.

Hi Tom @tcinla, I also dont know how I manage to have a such bad fit. But it was for sure a mistake in the beginning, where? I have no idea. But I'm really careful when removing the pieces from the sprue, and for sure I'm cleaning them more than I should (often with a hole in the seem of the wing e.g.). But I'm still having fun with this kit, which for me is most important.in the future I will pay more attention on those tinny pieces of remaining sprue to avoid any surprise.

@yann - so long as you are having fun, that's all that matters.

Modern kits really require care. I was (again!) having a fit problem with another Spitfire the other day, and checked the situation and - sure enough! - there was a tiny bit of @#$#!@! sprue nub. They have to be clean as the proverbial hound's tooth.

    'Et voilà'. Camo is done.

As George said the stirrup has been smashed and the pitot as well during handling the kit while painting. Hopefully I found back the stirrup, but for the other part, she is MIA. I tried to make one from another part and it's not perfect but better than nothing.

I forgot to mention the the sky paint has been redone. With only sky and none with a mix of white. It was to clear and too contrasting with the camo. And, again, during the handling I broke the SB aileron which gave me the opportunity to place it back in the correct position
