I've made a start on the Anson, and it's been a very favourable impression. The plastic is on the soft side, which means it's easy to trim and sand, very few ejector pin marks as yet to fill and very clear positive locations which has meant a simple smooth build to date:

Those of you who have built either the Classic Airframes or Special Hobby offering will know the angst that their resin cast frameworks cause, very fragile and usually warped! No flash on any of Airfix's frames, nor anywhere else for that matter.

    More later I hope.

It’s a simple kit Spiros, and no rigging, so hopefully it’ll go well!

Hope I do it justice then! It’s the first Airfix kit I’ve built for years, I know the company has had its ups and downs but I’m impressed with the Anson so far Felix.

Promissing start on the Anson, Max @maxw
Current Airfix molds are mostly quite good to my knowledge.

More work on the Anson cockpit, and my admiration for the thought that has gone into this kit increases, small touches like the blank that fits into the floor in front of the second pilot position if you don’t want the extra wheel:

and the construction of the IP, console and rudder pedals:

and then it all fits beautifully in place:

Time for some painting I think, most of the units in my pictures are placed but not secured…..which in turn shows how precise the fit is! And this is where we're heading:

Fitting seems indeed perfect, Max @maxw
Also the detailing is quite nice.
Great interior pictures of that original Anson, they will be very helpful.

I have many more interior shots John @johnb, I've been collecting them for several years to help me with my 1/32 vacuform Anson! Just need more time!

Looks terrific, Max (@maxw). I am glad Airfix spent the time to do a good job on the interior, since all the glass makes the inside very visible. I have never built the previous, scary versions of the Anson, but my quick look at the parts when my Airfix version arrived were very favorable. Like you said, now all I need is more time and I will get to it.

Now that will for sure be a challenge, building a vacuum 1/32 Anson, Max @maxw

I can see the cockpit framing and interior is heads and above Classic Airframes. Night and day. I’m going to have to get one of these Airfix Ansons. And when I finish it, I’ll give the CA Anson I built years ago to my grandson.

This looks really good. I finally tossed my CA Anson, so I am really looking forward now to getting one, after seeing this.
