I'm going to chime in and echo what our friend George has stated. Two thumbs up gents !

I was very impressed with how it looked in the summer time camouflage, but adding the winter coat was a step in the right direction, sort of like the icing on a cake.

    Sebastijan, @inflames
I am glad to see you are feeling better, and back in business. The wing looks very good.

@fiveten, thank you, Spiros. I'm pretty happy with the outcome as well.

@gblair, thanks a lot, George. The washable white is very good controllable to be honost. Of course it depends on how much water you apply to get it removed, the size of your brush and the hardness of the used brush. This is a matter of trying but the learning curve is not that steep I must admit.

@lgardner, thaks, Louis. I was a bit affraid to ruin the summer camouflage but in the end I'm glad that I tried the winter camouflage.

New record on braking off parts.

After mounting the first outer part of the starboard wing, I worked on the same component for the port wing. During this assembly I was able to already snap off the first one. Must be my all time record.

Eventually I was able to nearly mount all tiny bits and pieces, pitot tube, balancers, canons, trimbars etc.

Also the few decals are applied as well. They settled quite nicely.

A few more pieces and weathering before applying the final coat.

looking good, John! Really like the contrasts between the camo and the white wash and bright red markings! Makes the model really stand out.

And last but not least, the riveted front part of the fuselage. Rear part and tail were wooden so no riveting there.

    @inflames, thank you, Sebastijan

Your Il2 looks amazing, especially with the riviting. A lot of work which definitely adds a lot.

Despite the broke-off records, your Il-2 looks amazing, my friend @johnb!
Looking forward to the final coat!

John (@johnb): Your whitewash looks terrific. I added that pitot with great fear, but I managed to keep it safe. Probably the first time that has ever happened.

Sebastijan (@inflames): Your interior and fuselage really look great. Your riveting looks perfect and will really add to the appearance.

Sebastijan @inflames - your Il-2 looks good. The cockpit in particular. Onward!

John @johnb: Your winter wash experiment was a real success. Looks to me like to added some winter depth to the red stars. Did you?

@fiveten, thanks a lot, Spiros. Do hope to get this one finished before the end of the holiday.

@gblair, thank you, George. Not the most relaxing moments of a modeller, adding those tiny parts.

@eb801, thanks, Eric. I'm thinking about applying a bit of white to the stars, but on most pictures of real Il2's you see those stars still being pretty clean.

Thanks guys! I am really happy this part of the process is done with and looking forward to finally attach the wings to the fuselage and start painting!

Red stars toned down a bit with the washable white paint.

Antenna pole and visor added, as well as painting the exhaust stains and the exhausts.

For the stains black was sprayed on at first, the remains of the black paint were made lighter by adding white and this was used for the inner part of the stains. For the exhausts I used ModelMaster 'Burnt Metal', thanks for the advice Spiros @fiveten.

Remaining actions are adding the antenna wire, touching up here and there, applying the final coat.

If I missed something, please let me know,

Really really nice! I love it that you added the landing gear indicator - an often overlooked detail on Soviet aircraft.
